Alan Wilson, JD, MSc

Over the course of his 20+ years in leadership, Alan has proven his ability to seed, develop and grow businesses across the globe.  Internationally recognized for his ability to marry EQ with execution, his work acumen spans both the European and North American continents and covers industry knowledge from healthcare to real estate development.

In 2017, Alan formed Sugarbush Capital, a CEO-for-Hire entity that works with shareholders across the globe to either strengthen their market position in a given space or reposition themselves within a new market.  More than a consultant, Alan’s decade-long engagement with one of the most intelligent family offices in America has provided him with the ability to work extremely efficiently within the family office environment.

Alan currently serves as President, COO & General Counsel of Detego Health, a Third Party Administrator of health benefits plans, which he co-founded in 2020.

Prior to Detego Health, Alan held various executive leadership roles in a Swiss biotech and medtech group for five years. Additionally, from 2016-2019, Alan was a Principal at Brown Legacy Group, a family business office that operated in the healthcare industry.  Prior to Brown Legacy, Alan served for a number of years as Chief Operating Officer for Rising Tide GmbH, a Swiss IP management company.

Leveraging the inherent value of intellectual property rights, Alan seeks out opportunities where properly prosecuted IP can be utilized as a core strength of the business throughout its growth lifecycle.  With a disciplined business framework and commitment to strategic and operational excellence, Alan has been at the forefront of identifying business opportunities that align with global needs, leveraging technology and data insights to develop both products and services.  His global perspective, legal and operational experience as well as his unwavering passion inspire a collaborative culture centered on service to others. 

Alan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Latin and History from Ball State University, a Master of Science in Information & Communication Sciences from Ball State, a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and multiple Executive Education certifications from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. 

He is a Board Member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Colorado, member of Beta Theta Pi (Wabash College) fraternity, Flatirons Community Church in Golden, CO, the Illinois Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

Alan and his wife Rhonda live in Evergreen, Colorado with their two children.  They love to travel, ski and soak up the outdoor lifestyle that is Colorado.
